"Recreate your life, always, always. Remove the stones, plant rose bushes and make sweets. Begin again. "

I’m “re-everything”ing. This year so far has been transition after transition. Of course
some obstacles have been more difficult than others. But between health issues, career changes, family priorities, etc., I thank God that I’ve managed to keep my feet on solid ground, and float as needed to keep my head above the water. I’ve never been one to not finish nor continue something I’ve started, and I don’t plan on that happening anytime soon.
As many of you know (and if you don’t, surprise!), I’m an engineer in “real life”. That part of me has been demanding more attention, as well as other things life has tossed at me. Needless to say I’ve allowed my time to get sucked up by various things, so my posting has been very slim. With Shalin’s 10 Cents turning 1 soon, my goal is to change that and start posting more frequently. It makes me so happy knowing that I’ve inspired, motivated, initiated laughter, or shed light on positivity for at least one person with my posts, and I haven’t felt that in a while. Being honest, I was discouraged and incredibly frustrated with my blog. With my focus shifting everywhere else, I felt disconnected from it. I’ve always wanted Shalin’s 10 Cents to be a vessel of happiness, and not feel like a chore.

Now that I’m at a place where my creativity is flowing as it should, and I’ve grasped some major balance in regards to life in general, I’m excited to get back at it. I’m thankful for everyone that’s encouraged me to keep my blog going, even if it’s at a little at a time.
With that being said, I hope you know that it is 1000% OKAY to disconnect and take time for yourself. In order to reach your goals, you have to have good energy to pour into your milestones; and in order to pour out good energy, your cup must not only be full, but replenished. For me, whether it’s a new hobby, learning to love from a distance, or replacing one bad habit with three good ones, replenishing my cup is a priority.
“I have been watering my own grass. I have been taking the time to make sure I am deeply rooted. I am fully understanding that in order to grow some seasons must end. I am learning how to shed leaves and lose branches without mourning, for when I bloom the branches and leaves that will grow in its place will be stronger and fuller. I am learning to love those roots because time and time again as some things change and some things end, those roots will grow with me. Those roots are part of my foundation. They will endure the falls and winters, and deepen as I bloom in the springs and summers. Peace is priority. Happiness is a journey.” – @itsshalin
Don’t ever be afraid to re-plant yourself. Don’t ever be afraid to rearrange your garden.
People, things, bad habits, etc. – get rid of the weeds. Till your soil.
You deserve to flourish.
Lots and lots of love,
P.S. – If you can relate, I’d love to hear from you. Drop a comment <3!
