Skin Care: Daily Routine ft. Aveeno Positively Radiant

There are so many products on the market for skin care that it can be overwhelming trying to figure out what may work best for your skin. What I’ve learned over the years of trying to find that “go-to” skin care product is that there is LITERALLY no one “go-to” product or product line that works best for me. My skin changes seasonally, i.e., it tends to be dry in colder months, oily in hot months, and a combination in all the months in between. I wouldn’t say my skin is sensitive, but, although rare, some products that I’ve tried have caused an adverse reaction.

This brings me to the Aveeno Positively Radiant line that includes cleansers, moisturizers, tone correctors, facials, etc.! To make things short, I came across this line by researching dubs to the Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh. I got the soy cleanser in a kit as a birthday gift (s/o my sis Keaira), and really loved it. My favorite thing about it was that it’s gentle enough to wash your eyes with which was perfect for getting any mascara off before bed. However, after I bought a full-sized bottle (5.1 fl oz) for $38.00, I used the product up so quickly that I couldn’t see how it would be practical to include in my daily skin care routine. Bottom line? It was just too expensive to make a staple in my regimen for daily use at this time. My research brought me to the Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening Cleanser, and, naturally, other products from the same line.

Although my overall skin care regimen includes a variety of products, my typical facial skin care routine using Aveeno’s Positively Radiant line is as follows:

Morning:

  1. Wash with the Brightening Cleanser.

This cleanser is the-bomb-dot-com, literally. It has a gentle lather to it, and after rinsing, my face doesn’t feel all dry and stripped of life. Just like the Fresh Soy Cleanser, it’s also gentle enough to wash over eyes. I use it twice a day nearly every day of the week, and the 6.7 fl oz pump bottle has lasted me at least a three weeks now… and it sells for only $6.99!

  1. Moisturize with the Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 15.

This moisturizer isn’t heavy, and very little goes a LONG way, which is perfect since I don’t want to overload my face with too much moisture. I love that it also has SPF since I typically exercise outside whenever it’s not raining on my workout days. It also works to improve the tone and texture of your face. It comes in a 4 fl oz pump bottle and sells for $14.99. I’ve had my bottle for two months now. I moisturize twice daily, so it is definitely paying for itself now.

Side Note: I’ve always been partial to moisturizing my face a lot since I tend to always be oily in my t-zone area, but my favorite Sephora gal (s/o Nikki!) convinced me that I really needed to make a habit of moisturizing my face daily. Apparently, if I moisturized my face regularly, my body would naturally lessen the amount of oil produced on my face. I’m no expert on the science behind this, but I gave it a shot and I haven’t been let down since. Bye-bye super oil sheen.

Evening:

  1. If I’ve decided to beat my face for whatever reason, I’ll use make up remover stuff. Otherwise, skip this step.
  2. Wash with the Brightening Cleanser or Daily Cleansing Pads.

I’m absolutely in love with the cleansing pads; they’re probably my favorite product from the entire line. They are great for using in the evening since the scrubbing helps get the all the grime out of your pores. The cool thing about these pads is that one side is rougher than the other, making it great for exfoliating and scrubbing excess makeup off. My skin texture has greatly improved – I love how soft it is! If I’m feeling extra mucky, I sometimes add a little bit of the brightening cleanser to the pad. A 28-count container goes for $6.99.

  1. Apply the Targeted Tone Corrector.

This is a spot treatment for dark spots. I’ve tried tone correctors before, and all of them dried my skin out wherever I applied it at. This tone corrector does not do that, but the results have been slow. A 1.1 fl oz tube goes for $14.99 and will most likely last me an entire year.

4.  Moisturize again with the Daily Moisturizer.

The Aveeno Positively Radiant skin care line has been doing wonders for my skin. I’ve been enjoying clear, moisturized, evenly-toned skin ever since I began incorporating this line into my skin care regimen. (Observe my fab, filter-less selfies :-] ). It has easily become a staple for my summer skin care.

I’ve been loving my skin so much that I have embraced rocking my bare face A LOT more! The Aveeno Positively Radiant skin care line gets a solid 8 out of 10 for a daily skin care routine that is quick, no-nonsense, affordable, and best of all – works! This product line has been on the market for a while. I highly recommend trying this out if you think it may work for your skin type.

Serve them skin,

Shalin

P.S. – I wasn’t paid for this product review.
